The 7 Best Food Trucks in Sacramento

Food trucks aren’t just for summertime, but for all year long (especially in California’s capitol city of Sacramento). If you don’t follow your favorite food trucks on Twitter, it can be difficult to find them, since their locations are always changing. But what are the best food trucks in Sacramento? We’ve made up our list of the top 10 best food trucks in Sacramento, so make sure to find these guys on Twitter, Facebook, and other social media so you can stay up to date on their current and upcoming locations.
1. Drewski’s Hot Rod Kitchen
Cuisine: Sandwiches
Price range: $
Best item on the menu: The Hemi
Why it’s good: Drewski’s Hot Rod Kitchen is some serious business. We chose the Hemi as our favorite dish (it’s a grilled cheese sandwich full of pulled pork, onions, and mac n’ cheese on French bread), but you won’t be disappointed by any of their options. If you’re looking for some gut-busting deliciousness, then Drewski’s is the place to be.
2. Culinerdy Cruzer
Cuisine: American
Price range: $$
Best item on the menu: Bruschetta burger on a brioche bun with a side of brussels sprouts
Why it’s good: Everyone who tries the Culinerdy Cruzer NEEDS to try their brussels sprouts. They’re better than French fries, and pair well with any of their burgers. We like the Bruschetta burger, but honestly, it’s hard to pick just one thing from the menu. Do yourself a favor and try a different once each time you visit – we know you’ll definitely be back for more.
3. Wandering Boba
Cuisine: Asian Fusion
Price range: $
Best item on the menu: Shanghai Lumpia and Thai iced tea with boba
Why it’s good: Wandering Boba is an Asian fusion and Filipino food truck in Sacramento that has a lot to offer all who go there. If you’ve never tried lumpia or adobo, this is a great time to expand your horizons. As boba tea becomes more and more popular, it’s time to jump on the bandwagon and get on of their delicious drinks the next time you see Wandering Boba around town.
4. Chando’s Tacos
Cuisine: Mexican
Price range: $
Best item on the menu: torta with adobada
Why it’s good: Chando’s Tacos is truly a gift from above, bestowed upon the food truck lovers of Sacramento, CA. Don’t believe us? Hunt down this food truck and try it yourself. Our mouths start salivating just thinking about the adobada – pork soaked in adobada sauce and infused with juicy pineapple flavor. You can get this on any item you choose (tostadas, tacos, mulitas, burr.ito), but we’re partial to the tortas
5. Hefty Gyros
Cuisine: Mediterranean
Price range: $
Best item on the menu: Gyro rice plate with hefty fries
Why it’s good: You can never go wrong with Greek food. Or at least, that’s what we think. Choose from a chicken pita, gyro, or falafel plate, and your heart and stomach will be fully satisfied. Prices are great, at just $10 a plate, and we recommend giving their hefty fries a try as well. These fries are really a meal in themselves, made up of crinkle cut fries topped with tzatziki sauce and lots of meat. You’ll want to share them with your friends.
6. Cousins Maine Lobster
Cuisine: Seafood
Price range: $$
Best item on the menu: Connecticut lobster roll and lobster bisque
Why it’s good: It’s not often that we find great tasting seafood in the Sacramento area. That’s why we were so stoked to find Cousins Main Lobster. The mainly is pretty simple – delicious lobster, and lots of it. The bold and daring can even try the Maine lobster ice cream for just $5. This food truck is a little bit more on the expensive side, but don’t let that scare you away. Cousins Maine Lobster is worth every penny.
7. Cowtown Creamery
Cuisine: Ice cream and froyo
Price range: $
Best item on the menu: Big Kid deluxe cone or affogato
Why it’s good: Cowtown Creamery is our favorite places to stop on hot days, or just before we’re heading out from a food truck event. There’s not much else that is more satisfying than walking around with an ice cream cone while you enjoy the sights of the city. The Big Kid deluxe is ice cream topped with M&Ms, and affogato offers ice cream topped with fresh espresso and whipped cream.
